Jonathan & Carolina Willoughby

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Jonathan was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and was raised in a missionary family. From a young age, Jonathan was exposed to the ministry of church-planting and leadership training overseas. Soon after the Lord redeemed his life, he began to prepare for full-time ministry with a desire to invest his life and ministry in the Spanish-speaking context.

Upon graduating from Bible College, Jonathan moved to Los Angeles in order to attend The Master’s Seminary, where he completed his M. Div. Th.M. degrees. While working on his graduate studies, Jonathan became a member of Grace Community Church, where he served for 6 years in the Spanish Ministry and met his wife, Carolina.

Carolina is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She grew up in a pastor’s home and came to know the Lord at a young age. Carolina is a graduate from The Master’s University with degrees in both Communications and Biblical Counseling.

The Willoughbys serve the Lord in Lobos, Argentina and are actively training leaders around the country and surrounding nations by ministering to the local church and through the equipping of pastors and leaders in Bible exposition.

The Willoughbys have four children: Tobias (2016), Sofia (2017), Thomas (2019), and Sebastian (2020).

Ministry Description:

• Jonathan serves as an elder at Iglesia Bautista Misionera in Lobos, Argentina. He performs many administrative and pastoral duties including teaching, preaching, counseling, leadership training and leads the music ministry.
• Jonathan is also the Administrative and Student dean of IDEAR, Instituto de Expositores Argentina (Expositor’s Institute in Argentina). IDEAR exists to train pastors and leaders in the southern cone of South America in biblical exegesis and exposition, as well as pastoral ministry.
• Carolina enjoys her role as a wife and mother at home, and is actively involved in serving the local church, especially through discipling and counseling women.

Ministry Goals:

• Evangelize the unbelievers of our community in Lobos and other areas of Argentina
• Edify the local body of believers at Iglesia Bautista Misionera
• Equip church pastors and leaders for faithful ministry in Argentina and surrounding nations
• Establish IDEAR as legally recognized institution in Argentina and consolidate membership with The Master’s Academy International
