Under the leadership of The Master’s Academy International and Grace Church missionary Sean Ransom, The Expositors Academy (TEA) has been training men for gospel ministry in the Philippines for the past 17 years. God has greatly blessed this ministry, with training extending beyond Manila to 10 cities across the country and graduating 340 students over the years. One particular place that has become a strategic location for training is Davao City, where TEA has been partnering with Soli Deo Gloria Christian Church (SDG) since 2015 to prepare pastors for ministry.

By God’s grace, SDG members were recently able to build a new sanctuary for their church, along with dedicated space for offices and classrooms. The new sanctuary accommodates up to 800 people and more comfortably houses their growing church family, while the additional office and classroom space has been used for training seminars and TEA classes. These practical blessings have been an amazing answer to prayer and have allowed for training to expand and strengthen in Davao City. With this improvement in facilities came a need for audio-visual hardware installation to support TEA’s livestreamed classes. After several attempts to find technically qualified individuals in the local area to install and establish the required systems with no success, SDG reached out to Grace Church to see if we could help, since classes were to start in short order.

After hearing of the urgent need to finish the A/V installation, our elders determined that through Faith Promise funds, we could support both the material and labor needs of SDG. Grace sent two experienced A/V engineers along with the necessary resources to Davao City to support this installation. The church members there were extremely grateful that the Lord had provided for their need and couldn’t believe that a team from Grace Church would make the trip all the way to the Philippines to help them on such short notice. They were greatly encouraged and praised the Lord for His kindness!

This is just one example of how Faith Promise funds are used to help in the work that God is doing through our missionaries around the world. While missionaries are sustained through the monthly giving of their supporters, Faith Promise funds are used for unique needs that arise beyond our missionaries’ budgets. It is a privilege to be able to help our missionaries when such needs arise.

Sunday, April 27 and May 4, you will find a Faith Promise commitment card in Grace Today. Please prayerfully consider what amount the Lord might provide for you to contribute over the next twelve months, above your regular giving. Cards can be filled out anonymously and then dropped in the offering or returned at the Faith Promise table on the Patio. Remember, the amount you give is not as important as your prayerful participation, because we know that through His people, He will indeed provide the resources necessary for His gospel to go forth around the world.
