Tom & Kathy McConnell have served as missionaries of Grace Community Church to the United Kingdom since April 2003.

Give toward this ministry

• The Lord has blessed Tom and Kathy with five children: Joshua (b. 2002), Josiah (b. 2004), Jonathan (b. 2006), Joy (b. 2008) and Julia (b. 2010).
• Tom graduated from The Master's Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1999 and a Master of Theology degree in Old Testament in 2002. In May 2025, Tom graduated from The Master’s University with the Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Counseling.
• In February 2013, after ten years of senior pastoral ministry in the U.K., Tom & Kathy were invited by a small group of British believers to help plant a new church in Rugby, England called Grace Bible Church Rugby (GBCR) where they have been serving ever since.

Current Ministry

• Tom is one of three pastors who lead, feed and serve Grace Bible Church Rugby (GBCR).
• Tom is currently serving in a temporary capacity as the occupational elder of GBCR (aka the primary preaching elder of the church) until the Elders call a gifted man to take up the preaching burden.
  • If the Lord allows this change, then Tom will continue at GBCR as one of GBCR’s pastors, but he will change his role and responsibilities to leading GBCR’s church-based training center called: Grace Bible Academy.
• Tom and GBCR are prayerfully seeking a godly, gifted man who can eventually take over Tom’s preaching responsibilities. Please pray us in this important matter.
• Leveraging his D.Min degree in Biblical Counseling, Tom serves as the Director of GBCR’s Biblical Counseling Ministry which trains GBCR Members how to competently minister God’s Word to men and women in Biblical Counseling.
• Beyond training Biblical Counselors, Tom oversees GBCR’S Biblical Counseling ministry, where people (normally from outside GBCR) request biblical counseling from GBCR for their real-life burdens and struggles.
• GBCR is in the early stages of planting a new church on the Portuguese Island of Madeira.
• Kathy’s favorite ministries are to her husband and children at home. She also enjoys discipling women, serving as one of the leaders of Women of Grace Bible study, and loving God and His people by showing hospitality in her home. Usually once a month she helps with crèche and takes a turn playing the piano on the worship team. She is a certified biblical counselor with ACBC and exercises this ministry of God’s Word with other women at GBCR.

Ministry Goals

• To faithfully preach God's Word (2 Timothy 4:2) and make disciples of Jesus Christ of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20).
• To equip the believers of all nations joining GBCR to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11–13; 2 Timothy 2:2) out of a whole-soul love for God and a love for one's neighbors (Matthew 22:37–40).
• To train believers through Grace Bible Academy how to preach the Gospel, evangelize the lost, and how to plant churches throughout the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
