Jonathan and Sharon have been Grace Community Church missionaries since 2008. Having served in Samara, Russia (2008–2014) and the Czech Republic (2016–2022), they are now devoted to planting Geneva Bible Church (GBC) in 2023 with missionaries, John and Meg Glass.
As an English-speaking church, GBC will serve the large expat community of Geneva, particularly those that are temporary residents who do not plan to learn French. The prayer is that these people will be trained and then return to their native countries, some of which are closed to the Gospel.
A significant outreach ministry of the church will be biblical counseling. Since Jonathan is in process of becoming a fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), the goal is that GBC will become some sort of training pole for ACBC. An additional outreach opportunity will be to conduct evangelistic Calvin tours.
As in Russia and the Czech Republic, Jonathan will continue teaching with The Master’s Academy International, particularly at the European Bible Training Center in Berlin.
Jonathan has an M.Div. and Th.M. from The Master’s Seminary (2000, 2003), a PhD from Dallas Theological Seminary (2008), and is certified with ACBC. Sharon graduated from The Master’s University with a degree in flute performance (2000) and is also certified with ACBC. Sharon will serve in women’s ministry, music ministry, counseling, hospitality, and by homeschooling. Jonathan and Sharon have five children: Nahum, Isaac, Jesse, Jonas, and Miriam.
We seek to glorify the Triune God by evangelizing, discipling, training faithful men for ordination, and planting churches when there is a plurality of pastors in each church (Acts 14:23).
